Katherine (Kat)  Kaufmann

Manager, Boston

Katherine (Kat) Kaufman is a manager in the Boston office of the Bridgspan Group. She joined Bain & Company in 1997 as an associate consultant and transferred to the Bridgespan Group in 2005.

She has assisted nonprofit organizations with strategic planning, serving clients in philanthropy, education, international women’s empowerment, youth development, and environmental sectors.

While at Bain, Kat worked with clients in the consumer products, retail, publishing, industrial products, and pharmaceutical industries. She assisted clients in assessing new business opportunities, benchmarking competitor performance, and evaluating potential investments.

Kat served for four years in the United States Navy as a supply officer on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Over the course of her time on board, she managed the ship’s banking operations and consumable storerooms.

Kat earned her MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS) in 2001, where she was a Baker Scholar. While at HBS, she worked as a portfolio manager for New Profit, Inc., a venture philanthropy firm. Kat graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a BA in Social Studies.
