Debby Bielak

Debby Bielak is a manager in Bridgespan’s New York office. She joined Bridgespan from McKinsey & Company, where she had been an engagement manager in their Philadelphia office, and a community fellow in their Social Sector Office.

Debby’s consulting engagements with nonprofits and foundations include developing nonprofit advocacy organizations from scratch; analyzing the US higher education sector; interviewing global CEOs on environmental, social and governance issues; and developing a road map for collaboration between two global health organizations. Her for-profit work includes international brand strategy, acquisition strategy, stakeholder influence, and pre- and post-merger management in the pharmaceutical, retail, and consumer sectors.

Prior to business school, Debby taught at Midland, an independent boarding high school with the principal tenets of teaching students to understand the difference between needs and wants. She joined the faculty and students in maintaining the 3,000 acre campus, developed and implemented a college-level mathematics curriculum, and lived and taught in redwood cabins.

Debby earned her BS in Mathematics with honors from Haverford College and her MBA from the Wharton School of Business, where she was a Joseph Wharton grant recipient, co-president of the school’s Net Impact Club and co-founder of the Social Impact Management Initiative.
