Kirk Kramer joined Bridgespan in 2005 as a partner in the Boston office. He brings 25 years of global consulting experience in strategy, organization and operations from the for-profit world to the nonprofit sector.
Prior to joining Bridgespan Kirk was a Managing Director of Mercer Management Consulting, where he led the firm’s Operations practice unit. He also ran the firm’s Asian operations from Hong Kong, and built the firm’s organization strategy practice in Europe while based in London. One of Kirk’s consulting specialties is helping organizations develop the linkages between strategy and execution, ensuring that the organizational and operations capabilities are put in place to enable successful change to occur. He has worked with organizations in the transportation, telecommunications, technology, financial services, automotive and retail industries to develop strategies and to lead and manage change, including counseling senior executives on their leadership roles during the change process. He has also helped clients develop supporting infrastructural changes (decision-making and operating processes, measurement and control systems) and changes in people- related systems required to make organizations effective.
While living internationally Kirk worked with organizations promoting small business formation and local economic development. He has worked with micro-finance organizations in Asia and Africa, and with a venture capital fund focused on starting small businesses in West Africa. In Hong Kong, his family was active in fund raising and giving to education in Hong Kong and South China. Recently he has become engaged in setting up a nonprofit organization to address to educational needs of children of Hispanic immigrants in southwest Kansas.
Kirk began his career at J. P. Morgan after receiving a B.A. in economics from Williams College. He obtained his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
