Carol Trager has been working with Bridgespan as a consultant since 2002, and joined the company as director of communications in 2004. She is responsible for Bridgespan's and Bridgestar's communications, marketing and knowledge dissemination activities.
Carol's marketing and consulting experience spans the sectors. She held the position of CMO at Viant Corporation, and led the Web team for Lotus Development Corporation (IBM); her other experience includes tenures at Bronner Slosberg Humphrey, Inc. (now Digitas) and John Hancock, where she was responsible for business to business advertising. As a consultant, she has worked with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and many other nonprofits, and for numerous technology companies and service organizations. She was on the founding team of Community Servings and has been a guest speaker at the Heller School, Brandeis University.
She is the volunteer communications director for the National Jewish Coalition for Literacy.
Carol received an A.B. degree in Literature (Honors) from The University of Michigan Residential College, where she won a Hopwood Award for Creative Writing, and also attended the University of Michigan School of Art. She is working on the manuscript for a book on mental illness.
