Daniel Stid
Partner, San Francisco
Daniel Stid is a partner in Bridgespan’s San Francisco office. He brings to this role a diverse array of consulting experience in the nonprofit, government and private sectors. Daniel's recent client engagements at Bridgespan have included supporting a community foundation seeking to bring more public and philanthropic resources to bear on homelessness; helping the superintendent of an urban school district transform her organization in order to improve student outcomes, especially for disadvantaged populations; and crafting a growth strategy and business plan for a high-performing nonprofit serving at-risk children. Daniel is also engaged in knowledge work exploring the unique challenges of integrating leadership and management in nonprofit organizations.
Prior to joining Bridgespan, Daniel worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Boston, Kuala Lumpur and Washington, DC. He helped initiate BCG’s work with the US government and advised leaders at federal agencies focused on the economy, the environment, and education. While at BCG, Daniel also worked with nonprofit clients in the areas of public health, civic engagement, and conservation, and with industrial goods and health care companies.
Earlier in his career, Daniel was an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow and served on the staff of the Majority Leader in the US House of Representatives. Daniel has also volunteered for theInternational Republican Institute on training missions to Bulgaria and Chile, during which time he advised leaders of democratic opposition parties on presidential nominating systems. He is the author of The President as Statesman: Woodrow Wilson and the Constitution.
Daniel graduated Phi Beta Kappa / summa cum laude from Hope College; completed the MPhil program in politics from Oxford University, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar; and received a PhD in government from Harvard University.
