With few exceptions, most nonprofits in the United States operate in a single neighborhood, town, or city. Instead of replicating proven programs, society pours time, funds, and imagination into new programs that may only reinvent the wheel. How can proven nonprofit programs increase their reach? Drawing upon lessons learned by nonprofit organizations such as Jumpstart, City Year and STRIVE, Going to Scale explores how nonprofit organizations can think about the decision to replicate and what steps they can take to help their replication initiatives succeed.
