Taking the show to Newark: Ray Chambers rallies Newark’s leaders to step it up for a new performing arts center
To some, riot-stricken Newark was the worst possible location for a new performing arts center. To Ray Chambers, it was an opportunity his hometown couldn’t afford to lose, which is why he rallied Newark’s private sector to put up half the money.
