Mission statement:

The Engelbertha Krupp Charitable Foundation is a new start-up organization founded by her great-grandson, David Stroebel. Its mission is to better the lives of needy, low/no-income Jersey City residents by funding public charities, organizations, institutions and individuals. 

The Engelbertha Krupp Charitable Foundation was established in 2019 to honor the memory and legacy of Engelbertha Krupp, who was banished and disinherited from Germany’s Krupp steel family of Essen, better known today as ThyssenKrupp AG. 

The Foundation will be only the second foundation of a direct Krupp descendent to bear the Krupp name with the other foundation being the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Stiftung (Foundation) located in Essen.

 

Position Details:

Job Description:

It is the intention of the organization to provide compensation to the board when able and commensurate with industry standards to retain quality board members. This is a part-time opportunity. Help is needed in all phases of start-up mostly to quality-control work already completed and work that needs to be completed.   

Requirements:

• Board members are required to attend two, in person meetings per year: 1. an annual organization meeting and 2. an annual strategic planning meeting (meetings are held at various locations)

• Board members are required to attend meetings held via teleconference every other month throughout the year

• Board members serve a 1-year term

• Like all boards, an investment/board donation is required (first year $200 commensurate with revenue intake)

Additionally:

Passion for the organization's mission and willingness to help with the practical work i.e.the back-end work of getting a nonprofit up and running. Willingness to work with diverse people. Desire and willingness to help the nonprofit raise money.

 


Qualifications:

Minimum two years experience on a previous board. One year experience coming from a strong academic college in one or more areas of: business, law, fundraising, social media, growth, marketing, sales and venture philanthropy. Candidates must be passionate, self/highly-motivated and have the highest level of integrity, honesty and loyalty. Please submit your information below for consideration.
