Qualifications:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Treasurer serves on NMIC’s Board and provides reports to the Board Chair and other Board members on NMIC’s ongoing financial viability and stability while monitoring the organizations financial information. The Treasurer maintains a close working relationship with the CFO and Executive Director to ensure that all budgets and financial reports are executed correctly and in a timely fashion.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serves as Chair of the Internal Affairs and Audit Committee; develop Fiscal Policies for recommendation to the Board to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of the organization.
  • Works with the Executive Director and CFO to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board on a timely basis.
  • Assists the Executive Director and CFO in preparing the annual budget, and presenting the budget to the Board for approval.
  • Works with the Internal Affairs Committee to develop long-term financial strategies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Financial management experience required.
  • A CPA and prior not-for-profit financial experience desired but not required.
  • Prior experience serving on a board is preferred.
  • Candidates must have a commitment to the agency’s mission along with fidelity and passion for the clients we serve.
  • Candidates must be willing to play an active role in fundraising, serve as a brand ambassador for the agency and participate in quarterly board and committee meetings.
