With national visibility and local accolades as the tri-state area’s top source for robust and entertaining educational experiences, Historic Hudson Valley welcomes more than 300,000 visitors a year to our school programs, large-scale special events, and tours of historic properties including Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, Van Cortlandt Manor, Philipsburg Manor, and Union Church of Pocantico Hills.

Historic Hudson Valley, Westchester County’s largest cultural organization, seeks an experienced human resources professional to coordinate, create, and implement programs, processes and metrics that contribute to a high performance culture and support the achievement of HHV’s business goals. This is a full-time position reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources and Strategic Planning.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Coordinate talent acquisition, recruitment and hiring processes
  • Assess and implement various technologies that improve employee access and efficiency
  • Assist with the establishment of an in-house learning and development program
  • Assist with the establishment of an electronic performance management system
  • Serve as the resident expert in the management of all retirement plans
  • Coordinate employee benefit programs and policies
  • Assist with management of annual compensation program; HR policies; and department records




Successful candidates will have a Bachelor degree in Human Resources Management or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in human resources. She/he must have knowledge of employment law, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, retirement plan administration and HR best practices. Advanced skill in Word, Excel, and Power Point; the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality; and strong problem solving skills are essential. She/he must be a welcoming and effective partner for colleagues and offer supportive guidance to employees. Some weekend, evening and holiday availability in support of public events is required.
