Job Description:

Jewish Federation of St. Louis

President and CEO

The Jewish Federation of St. Louis (JFedSTL), the Jewish community’s central community-building, planning, and philanthropic organization, invites nominations and applications for the position of President and CEO.

Reporting to the Chairman and an engaged Board of Directors that has demonstrated a willingness to take risks, the next President and CEO will provide strategic vision and bold leadership for JFedSTL and its 60 employees, empowering it to build on a strong foundation of recent success and accelerate the organization’s transformation from that of a traditional federated grantmaking organization to a collaborative, impact-driven community partner and thought leader. To lead the Federation in this vital work, the next President and CEO must possess a record of success in guiding a complex organization through implementing strategies that lead to innovative progress and change. S/he must be a strong and inspirational communicator, a collaborative and resilient leader, an effective and enthusiastic fundraiser, and a seasoned manager demonstrating highly developed interpersonal skills and deep integrity. This is a highly visible role, both within and beyond the Jewish community.

The desired candidate will be knowledgeable and passionate about Judaism and Israel, with a personal commitment to Jewish values as well as compassion for, and understanding of, the Jewish people and the needs and welfare of Jews locally, in Israel, and around the world.
