We are seeking a Managing Director, HR and People Operations to provide strategic human resource and talent leadership to the organization. This individual will set the vision and drive the execution of ANet's human resource function and spearhead key talent initiatives. Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President, Talent, the Managing Director will serve as an organizational leader responsible for a wide range of critical work streams, including onboarding/offboarding, people data systems, employee relations, and ANet's operating policies. This person will ensure systems and policies work in direct support of ANet's goal to be a diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist organization.
This position requires an ability to think strategically about problems as well as a knack for tactical execution. The Managing Director will act as a trusted partner to ANet's leaders on HR matters, coordinate resource planning operations, and design and drive inclusive employee-related services, policies, and processes. This individual will manage an HR Manager and will be a member of ANet's Talent Team. WHAT YOU'LL DO Set vision for and drive execution of key employee experiences and HR/talent processes:
Ensure all HR systems, processes, and policies embody ANet's goal to be a diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist organization through close partnership with ANet's Equity team and ANet's Change team
Design and coordinate onboarding and offboarding experiences that provide employees with a cohesive, customer-friendly introduction to and exit from the organization
Oversee payroll (via HR manager) to ensure ANet employees are paid timely and accurately
Design and execute leave processes, including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, etc.
Ensure our titling guidance is market-aligned and market-competitive
Manage ANet's advancement philosophy and promotion process
Ensure ANet's benefits are market-competitive and create a robust value proposition that attracts and retains top talent
Own the development and rollout/implementation of policies, benefits, and ANet's employee handbook
Oversee benefits administration (through HR manager) to ensure employees maximize ANet's benefits
Work closely with ANet's legal counsel, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and school district policies and risk mitigation
Provide managers and team leaders with proactive training, materials, and coaching
Design and manage talent/HR internal guidance (e.g., through ANet's intranet) and communications that proactively address needs of ANet's employees and managers
Manage performance improvement plans and termination protocols, working side-by-side with managers to execute them
Oversee employee relations and provide consultation, facilitation, and resolution strategies for complex workplace issues
Work with legal counsel to provide training and resources to managers to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
Work with ANet's Change Team to support managers in implementing ANet's HR anti-racist standards
Support VP, Talent and Chief Financial Officer in annual talent planning and key strategic initiatives
Manage team to key milestones and ensure strong coordination, communication, and systems across stakeholders
Convene talent team leaders with appropriate org leaders (and external experts/advisors, when needed) and facilitate meetings that move decisions forward
Advise leaders on key talent questions; conduct external research and assert recommendations that are grounded in strong HR/talent practices and organizational needs
Determine people data infrastructure and drive insights
Determine talent data strategy and aligned technology that will meet ANet's short and long term HR and talent needs
Drive the use of data analytics to produce insights and innovative HR solutions for ANet's leaders
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR and talent data and fulfill all internal and external data reporting requests
Leverage data to identify where inequities exist within our internal processes and drive toward equitable systems
Hire, manage, and develop an HR manager who is positioned as credible, proactive, and trusted to support key HR operations, benefits administration, data systems, etc.
