Yeshiva University is the world’s premier Jewish institution for higher education. Rooted in Jewish thought and tradition, it sits at the educational, spiritual and intellectual epicenter of a robust global movement that is dedicated to advancing the moral and material betterment of the Jewish community and broader society, in the service of God.
Ranked among the top 100 Universities in the nation, Yeshiva University (YU) is a leading global educational institution with a strong tradition of combining Jewish scholarship with academic excellence and achievement in the liberal arts, sciences, medicine, law, business, social work, Jewish studies, education, psychology, social work, and more.
At the heart of the institution lies the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS). Founded over a century ago, RIETS is the Western Hemisphere's leading center for Torah learning and training for the rabbinate. Grounded in academic rigor and steeped in the full spectrum of Jewish tradition, RIETS has trained over 3,200 of the world's most distinguished Orthodox rabbis, scholars and teachers. RIETS instills in its students the intrinsic value of studying Torah and inspires them to delve into contemporary issues such as business ethics, bioethics and technology, all in the atmosphere of intellectual and spiritual exploration that characterized the great Jewish academies of the past.
RIETS graduates assume a broad range of leadership roles touching nearly every Orthodox Jewish and many non-Orthodox communities, schools and nonprofit institutions. Many RIETS graduates go on to distinguished careers outside of the rabbinate as well, bringing Jewish values and ethics to their work. RIETS provides its students with cutting-edge training and personal development programs to ensure their success in the field of their choice.
RIETS has long been a vital link in the chain that has transmitted tradition from one generation of Jewish leaders to the next. More information about RIETS can be found on the web at: https://www.yu.edu/riets/about
