About AUSL

What We Do
The Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) is a school management organization that works tirelessly to deliver on the promise that all students have access to an excellent education, right in their own neighborhoods. We inspire student achievement with our highly trained and passionate teachers who care for each child’s educational, social, and emotional needs. Our holistic model ensures our students experience more, with programs that aren’t always offered in public schools.
To achieve the goal of providing access to an excellent education, we have three service lines:

  • MANAGE - Manage one of the largest school networks in Chicago, with 31 public Schools of Excellence, serving over 16,000 students
  • TRAIN - Develop best-in-class, committed educators through the largest, and first, teacher residency program in the nation
  • ADVISE - Create change across the educational landscape by advising other school districts nationwide on our expertise and best practices
