About Us:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) is the largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson’s disease research worldwide, having funded more than $800 million in research projects in academic and industry labs worldwide. We exist to put ourselves out of business, so we deliberately hold no endowment but instead spend what we raise quickly and efficiently; 88 cents of every dollar spent goes directly to research programs. Core to our philosophy is how we think of our capital and its risk profile relative to other stakeholders in the drug development pipeline. We work aggressively to de-risk various treatment ideas and tools in the hopes of building a robust pipeline of new treatments for patients.

Job Description:

Position Description

As part of our strategy to accelerate therapeutic development for Parkinson’s disease, the Foundation sponsors natural history cohort studies to generate data and biosample resources, such as the landmark Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and Fox Insight studies. These resources are leveraged by the research community to better understand disease progression and to make novel scientific discoveries. To support these efforts, we are excited to welcome an Operations and Data Product Associate to work closely with our research study cohort teams. As a generalist, you will support projects across study operations, data product management, analytics, and grants management to strengthen and scale the Foundation’s sponsored research. You will help create, manage, document, and facilitate team operations. You will be part of the effort to democratize cohort data and analytics by sharing data resources with the broader research community. You are energized by partnership and close collaboration with both internal and external teams across clinical operations, informatics groups, analytics teams, researchers, and fundraisers.

More specifically, as an Operations and Data Product Associate, you will:

  • Support standardization of team processes by developing documentation, templates and transparent communication channels
  • Perform due diligence on new market strategies, tactics and potential partners; solicit buy-in for recommendations and implement on next steps
  • Develop and maintain study roadmaps and timelines unifying clinical, operational, scientific, and data workstreams
  • Support product launch (i.e., data sharing platforms) and growth tactics
  • Advocate for the researcher user group (i.e., clinicians, data scientists, geneticists, basic scientists) by supporting user research, focus groups, and product testing
  • Facilitate research workshops by coordinating attendance of key partners, developing productive agendas & meeting minutes, and supporting day-of operations
  • Support grants management for sponsored research partners and vendors
  • Analyze operational performance and budget tracking for sponsored research by developing/maintaining dashboards and partnering with business operations teams
  • Routinely review/recommend best practices to improve workflow and systems efficiencies
  • Effortlessly code-switch between varied audiences

  • 1+ years of experience in clinical research, healthcare sector, technology consulting, product management, or related field; knowledge of clinical study design preferred but not required
  • Action-oriented, diplomatic, solutions-focused, and proven team-advocate
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, structure, and simplify operational and data-related processes
  • Quick study driven by intellectual curiosity to learn all aspects of a new research-related business
  • Comfort collaborating cross-functionally through matrix management
