Job Description:
The Grant Manager reports to the Director of Institutional Giving and is responsible for conducting prospect research and writing grant proposals and reports to Foundation, Corporate and Government institutions. The primary goal of the Grants Manager will be to collaborate with the CEO and Director of Institutional Giving to increase the $1.2M Foundation and Corporate giving portfolio by at least 50% within a year.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Is a driven self-starter who takes initiative and brings a sense of urgency to everything they do;
Is a talented writer capable of writing compelling stories in proposals and reports;
Is a thorough researcher capable of identifying and distilling information from multiple sources — i.e. online searches, IRS tax forms, databases, news clips, etc. — into actionable intelligence;
Has a proven track record of preparing successful proposals and thorough reports;
Is meticulous at maintaining a grants calendar and relevant grant records and documents; and
Has experience using Salesforce to track every step of the grant cycle.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree required plus three (3) years of development experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization required;
Excellent writing ability that is clear, concise and analytic in style.
Familiarity with Google Docs platform;
Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask and meet multiple deadlines and demands.
Experience with Salesforce is highly desirable;
High level of discretion in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues; and
