Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional to serve as an active and collaborative member of the development team. Ideally located in the tristate area, the Associate Director, Corporate Relations will join a talented fundraising team and will be primarily responsible for expanding Center on Addiction’s corporate and government partnerships strategy in tandem with the Vice President of Development, Executive Vice President of External Relations, President and the CEO. Reporting to the VP of Development, the Associate Director, Corporate Relations will develop, lead, and implement a corporate and government partnerships strategy. This position is responsible for significant revenue-generation, relationship building, stewardship, strategy, and implementation as well as scaling of white label support services, technical assistance opportunities, and public-private partnerships.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategy:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Center on Addiction’s network of comprehensive programs to fully understand and communicate the scope and breadth of our work to funders and when writing proposals
  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Development, create, lead, and implement a corporate and government partnerships strategy designed to generate revenue, expand the white label helpline licensing model, and build a strong portfolio of corporate and government partners
  • Generate innovative ideas to generate new revenue and add value to partnerships, and develop compelling presentations and proposals

Cultivation, Solicitation & Stewardship:

  • Cultivate, manage and grow relationships with priority corporate partners responsible for meeting annual revenue goals set by the organization
  • Build relationships with key corporate and government contacts at all levels and across a variety of functions to advance partnerships
  • Lead meetings and liaise with corporate and government partners and Center on Addiction colleagues
  • Negotiate partnership terms and contracts
  • Prepare revenue reports and monitor progress to goal, shared with the VP of Development on a weekly basis
  • Communicate with partners, coordinating all internal and external resources to ensure that programs/initiatives are effectively executed, and partners’ objectives are achieved

Prospect Research:

  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Development, develop and execute corporate and government partner cultivation and stewardship cycles
  • Conduct and analyze active and ongoing research around corporate and government partnership prospects and current partners, prepare comprehensive partner profiles and briefing materials for all partner calls and meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years’ progressively responsible experience and demonstrated success in raising significant income through corporate and government partnerships, ideally at a health-related or “stigmatized” issue nonprofit organization
  • A demonstrated track record of creating and building relationships with key corporate stakeholders (existing contacts are preferred), ability to formulate and conduct solicitations, and proactively orchestrate appropriate outreach
  • Strong commitment to and knowledge of the mission of Center on Addiction  
  • Must be highly proficient in database software and data management – thorough knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is essential and familiarity with Luminate Online is a major plus
  • Excellent presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products 
  • Highly collaborative, communicative and transparent, with the ability to build strong and effective internal and external relationships
  • Professional demeanor and judgement in handling confidential and sensitive partnership information
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to represent Center on Addiction professionally to all colleagues, board members and strategic partners 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects as priorities change, with an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy and focused on meeting all deadlines and performance goals
  • Ability to travel 20-25% of the time
