For the past 22 years, The Moth—an acclaimed nonprofit and cultural institution—has celebrated the art & craft of storytelling. Through true stories, told live on stage without notes, The Moth has presented over 35,000 true personal stories to standing-room-only audiences around the globe that celebrate the diversity and the commonality of the human experience.
MothWorks brings the essential elements of The Moth to work and other unexpected places through workshops and customized private events. Clients have included Google, Facebook, Spotify, SoulCycle, American Express and non-profits like ICRC and the Kellogg Foundation.
The Manager, MothWorks will work closely with the Director of MothWorks to grow the client roster, design and pilot new storytelling programs and manage our freelance instructor pool.
The ideal candidate is a story geek with experience bridging the gap between business communications and creative workshops, who holds the conviction that storytelling is an important artform—and has the desire to help it thrive.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Serve as first contact for all incoming and prospective clients
Constantly identify opportunities for cultivating new business, stewarding existing clients and engage past client partnerships using data and insights from current or past collaborations
Collaborate on the development of new workshop curriculum and event opportunities
Instruct and lead workshops
Assist in the development of new MothWorks internal and promotional materials
Manage staffing and coordination of the MothWorks freelance instructor pool
Work closely with the Associate Producer to manage tracking, logistics and budgets of all workshops
