FamilyAid Boston, the city’s largest human service agency solely focused on ending childhood and family homelessness, is seeking a talented Grant Writer to research, write and secure an ever-increasing number of government and private grants to support its expanding work.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grant Writer is a full-time professional who is driven to make a difference in the world through their writing, research and communication skills.
The Grants Writer is responsible for researching and writing proposals to foundations, corporate, and government grants to support Family Aid’s nationally recognized homelessness prevention, diversion, emergency shelter, and supportive affordable housing programs that serve more than 2,000 children and parents each year. With a mission to empower parents facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build foundations for their children’s futures, FamilyAid is on a fast track to curb the region’s growing homelessness crisis. With momentum to help more people, the agency needs a dedicated, upbeat professional to obtain the resources FamilyAid needs to expand its operations.
Candidates must have impeccable writing skills and a track record of securing five figure grants. A friendly demeanor, promptness, dedication, willingness to go above and beyond, technical savvy and an extreme attention to detail are all highly desired qualifications.
- BA Degree at least in a field that requires writing.
- Professional writing experience is required.
- The ability to communicate well and be compelling on paper is a must.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative required.
- Grant writing experience is highly desired but not required.
- Commitment to our mission of helping homeless families.
- People who are good at time management and comfortable with deadlines.
- Highly capable at multi-tasking.
