PL+US: Paid Leave for the US is hiring a part-time (with benefits) Development Associate (DA) to help support our groundbreaking work to win paid family leave for everyone in the U.S. by 2022. 


In just three short years, PL+US has won family leave for nearly 6 million people and tripled in size. We’ve won change at some of the top employers in the country, including Walmart and Starbucks, and we’re taking that momentum into the fight to win national public policy. Paid leave is poised to take off as the next high-profile national issue.

As the DA you'll play a part in securing the resources that fulfill the strategic goals of the PL+US campaign to win paid family and medical leave by 2022. You will be responsible for assisting the team in the implementation of fundraising activities, campaigns, and special events. Key duties will include maintaining the PL+US donor database, donor correspondence, donor research, gift tracking, maintaining the PL+US gratitude calendar, and fundraising event support. 

This role will provide support to and work in collaboration with the Development Director and Executive Director.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Manage the PL+US CRM, EveryAction, to ensure donor data hygiene and gift tracking

  • Research existing, incoming, and potential donors and update donor records to reflect timely information

  • Maintain a gratitude calendar to ensure that we are thanking donors and meeting deadlines in a consistent and gracious manner

  • Administer form creation and registration pages for fundraising events and campaigns

  • Coordinate the invitation process for PL+US fundraising events

  • Work with the Development Director and Executive Director to update PL+US promotional materials

  • Help in the organization of donor events

  • Assist with administrative tasks as assigned, including meetings minutes, timekeeping, correspondence, and scheduling

Location

This is a part time position that will preferably be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, however the right candidate can be located anywhere in the U.S. with a major airport that has direct flights to San Francisco, Washington D.C., and New York City.

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience (to be successful in this role you should have most of these): 

  • 1-2 years of experience with EveryAction or similar donor management database/CRM

  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills 

  • Extraordinary attention to detail

  • A self-motivated, team-minded sensibility with a high sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple projects at once

  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; possess a friendly, professional demeanor, and positive presence

  • Experience with annual giving, special events, and/or constituent relations preferred

  • Commitment to winning paid family and medical leave for everyone in the U.S.

Compensation


This role is a salaried 60% FTE position, meaning you would work approximately 24 hours/week. Salary for this position is $36,000 annual (60% of full-time rate of $60,000 annual) and full benefits are included.
