Healing to Action is a dynamic young non-profit that uses peer support, grassroots organizing, and capacity-building to build power in marginalized survivor communities and address the root causes of gender-based violence. We are seeking a passionate, organized and highly motivated job candidate to fill the role of development manager. 

Position Summary

Healing to Action is adding a Development Manager to our staff to facilitate the continued growth of our fundraising program. The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented, with strong writing and oral communication skills, who is driven and excited about the opportunity to bring resources to intersectional movements for social change. The candidate will bring strong organizational, relationship management, and planning skills to this role and will serve as a driving force behind the team-oriented fundraising program at Healing to Action. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning & Strategy

    • In collaboration with leadership team and staff, coordinate a comprehensive fundraising strategy to identify, secure, and steward a diverse set of foundations and individual donors to meet or exceed HTA’s annual budget goals.

    • Participate in annual budgeting process by providing fundraising projections to co-directors.

  • Prospect Research and Cultivation 

    • Identify foundation and donor leads by conducting prospect research and securing relationship-building meetings.  

    • Manage up to the co-directors and other key staff by promoting their leadership and connections with key fundraising prospects.

  • Grants and Donor Management 

    • Manage multi-channel individual donor strategy that includes monthly donations, digital fundraising, and special events.

    • Manage foundation grant calendar by tracking due dates and deadlines, coordinating with the appropriate staff to ensure grant applications are submitted in a timely fashion.

    • Lead the writing of grant proposals, reports, and other updates.

    • Develop and implement a constituent relationship management system and contact database by maintaining all fundraising data and pipelines, analyzing data, and producing reports for the board and senior staff.

  • Stewardship

    • Develop opportunities for donor appreciation and engagement in organizational activities and relationships to promote donor retention.

  • Strategic Communications

    • In collaboration with leadership team, develop a communications plan to complement fundraising strategy.

    • Draft, design, and send donor communications like a quarterly dashboard, email updates, social media updates, and solicitations.


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education/work experience) plus 3-5 years professional experience in a non-profit or social-good setting. 

  • Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising is strongly desired; customer service or sales experience a plus.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Tech savvy with exceptional skills for database management and data analysis. Experience with constituent relations management systems a plus. 

  • Highly organized, comfortable managing multiple projects at once, and attention to detail is a must. 

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • Diplomatic and professional approach to problem solving. Ability to practice discretion and sound judgement with financial information. Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.

Generous PTO policy provides 25 days of PTO in addition to holiday time-off that reflects some of CPS' holiday schedule. Holiday time-off includes one week at the end of the year.

Salary: $45,000-$50,000, depending on experience
