The Kayla’s Village (KV) Board of Directors is a governing board with legal and fiduciary responsibility to the organization and all directors are required to fulfill this legal and fiduciary obligation. The roles and responsibilities outlined below are intended to guide each director, and to provide an understanding of what is expected from the board above and beyond the legal requirements. Board Directors, therefore, should be familiar with the following: 1. KV mission and vision; 2. Bylaws of KV; 3. KV Board Responsibilities, 4. Conflict of Interest policy; 5 KV Board Annual Commitment of $1,000; 6. General oversight, fiscal oversight, fundraising and development, and meeting participation.
1. Individuals who can bring a combination of Work, Wisdom, and Wealth to the organization; 2. Diverse leaders with expertise in the areas of: Advocacy, Fundraising, Legal, Accounting, Education, Grant Writing, Resource Development, Social Media, Politics, and Marketing/Public Relations; 3. A proven ability to support organizational and strategic growth through fundraising, strong leadership and interpersonal skills; 4. Fundraising knowledge and experience; willingness to approach and actively pursue potential and current contributors. Board members are expected to leverage personal relationships and connections to help identify and solicit potential funders, as well as directly invest in KV’s work by making a personal contribution each year; 5. A commitment to attending scheduled meetings in person or virtually, as well as any special events. 6. Represent KV to the community and to advocate for KV’s mission, programs, and services;
