  • Fresh Truck mobile markets bring affordable, healthy food to Boston neighborhoods
  • Fresh Connect is a pre-paid debit card and analytic platform that enables health care providers to cover the cost of healthy food for patients and measure related health impacts
  • Fresh Box a direct-to-doorstep contactless delivery of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other grocery staples developed as a response to the COVID crisis.

Position Description

About Fresh is looking for mission-driven operator to join our team as our Development Manager. This person will be responsible for building, managing and supporting About Fresh’s development operations. Our startup environment is an ideal fit for someone looking to learn and grow with the organization. 

What you’ll do

  • Work directly with About Fresh CEO to manage strategic priorities, fundraising operations, and reporting operations for development activities
  • Responsible for end-to-end development data building systems for donor prospecting, solicitation, and stewardship from a diverse base of supporters including corporations, foundations, and individuals
  • Manage prospecting, writing, and submission of new grant proposals including post-award activities and reporting
  • Plan and execute major fundraising campaigns in collaboration with Director of Communications and Partnerships
  • Attend, assist, and represent About Fresh at key fundraising events, speaking engagements, tours, and other programs
  • Produce development materials including newsletters, one-pagers, stewardship materials and annual reports
  • Own the ground-up development of About Fresh’s annual fund

Qualifications:

Who you are

  • Equipped with 3+ years of experience in a nonprofit development role; professional experience in Boston a plus
  • Someone who enjoys digging into the data behind development, with the excel skills to match
  • Natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills
  • Exceptionally organized and extremely attentive to detail, with planning, and prioritization skills that don’t falter in a fast-paced work environment
  • A curious and proactive problem solver who is eager to learn new things
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms
  • Understanding of food justice, health care trends and social determinants of health is a plus
