This position is responsible for the management of the headquarters Human Resources department and headquarters activities. The Human Resource Director will oversee and coordinate activities to include the provision of Human Resources services and programs such as the management of recruitment, performance management, employee relations, onboarding and compliance with laws and regulations. This role will report to the VP, Human Resources.
Employee Relations: Manage employee relations activities that establish and maintain good relationships between HR and ACDI/VOCA employees. Consult with employees to resolve employee concerns. Conduct exit interviews and new hire check-ins, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with VP of Human Resources. Data review and reporting HR metrics, and collaborate with VP of Human Resources to identify challenges and use data analysis to help influence positive organizational changes to the operations, processes, or programs. Provide advice and counsel to supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy, and employment law. Provides guidance as to appropriate actions.
Performance Management: Manage performance evaluation process AchieVe, including communication, tracking and implementation of salary changes. Review and approve introductory and overseas employees’ reviews. Participate in cross-cutting activities that help ACDI/VOCA achieve its objectives and foster good working relationships with other departments.
HR System and Payroll: Manage the HRMS system to ensure it meets the needs of the organization. Oversee the tracking HR data and analyzing the trends. Oversee HR payroll related functions to ensure they are carried out efficiently and in accordance with organization policies, and procedures.
Recruitment and Staffing: Oversee the HR onboarding process in a way that ensures new employees have the resources to be successful. Oversee the recruitment process to ensure effective hiring for a variety of staffing levels.
HR Compliance: Oversee ACDI/VOCA’s compliance with all state and federal employment regulations to include posting, tracking, and reporting. Liaise with government regulatory agencies, including the Department of Labor, EEOC, Affirmative Action and Homeland Security.
HR Administration: Supervise HR staff, as assigned, including developing talent within the department. Under the direction of the VP of HR, prepare reports for senior management and coordinate special projects. Responsible for additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related degree. Minimum 8 years of generalist experience in a Human Resources department with management responsibilities. PHR/SHRM-CP and/or advanced degree highly desirable. Must have experience in one of the following areas: international human resources, government contracting environments, or non-profit environments. Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical, tactical, and written and oral communication skills and the ability to take a leadership role in a highly functioning, dedicated team. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRMS are essential. Experience with UltiPro desirable. Language skills in Spanish or French highly desirable. Ability and willingness to travel to developing countries (5%).
