CYCLE Kids is committed to working with schools to ensure the basic rights of children to a physically and emotionally healthy start in life. Since 2004, CYCLE Kids has impacted more than 30,000 children with an innovative education program that has been researched and designed with partners at Boston University. The CYCLE Kids program weaves together the fun of learning how to ride a bike with practical nutrition lessons. Children gain confidence and improve their self-esteem while learning lifelong skills and acquiring knowledge that will help them lead active and healthy lifestyles. When children feel physically fit and emotionally strong, they make better life choices and have the drive to achieve academically.
Member of our Board of Directors, which currently consists of 11 actively engaged and committed members. Current Board members reside in the Boston and New York metropolitan areas. Board meetings are held quarterly in those two locations with remote attendance as needed via virtual meeting capabilities.
We are seeking individuals who are excited about the opportunity to help grow and scale our organization through the development of partnerships that will help us open more programs across the country. Enthusiasm for Children's education and the importance of sport and outdoor activity to a child's development is a must! Candidates should be willing to commit to a minimum of 2-3 years of service on the Board. In addition, we are looking for people who would entertain ascending to a position of Leadership as Board Chair as we embrace this new chapter for our organization. We are looking for people who are results oriented and have:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Fundraising knowledge and experience; willingness to approach and actively pursue potential and current contributors including individual donors. large donors, institutions and corporate sponsors.
- A desire to engage in Strategic Thinking with an eye on our Mission
- Experience with Organizational Development
- Passion for the nonprofit sector and the importance of philanthropy
