The SkillPointe Foundation is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2020, dedicated to providing financial assistance for students and other individuals seeking education, training, and/or certification in high skill jobs that do not require 4-year degrees.  SkillPointe Scholarships support worthy individuals pursuing a trade or technical skill at a community college, trade school, or other reputable institution.

The SkillPointe Foundation works at the intersection of students for whom traditional, 4-year college is not the best fit, the skilled worker shortage in America, and the nation's high unemployment rates - by providing a path to acquiring new skills, up-skills, or re-skills in high demand, skilled worker professions.

Job Description:

Executive Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall operational responsibility for the SkillPointe Foundation's programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.  The SkillPointe Foundation is an exciting new non-profit organization, and the ED music be both experienced and entrepreneurial.  The ED will be thoroughly committed to the SKillPointe Foundation's mission.  All candidates should have proven leadership, fundraising, and relationship management experience.

Leadership & Management

  • Ensure execution of day-to-day operation of the Foundation including:  Board relations and governance, programming and program evaluation, financial management, communication, and resource development
  • Actively engage and energize SkillPointe Foundation volunteers, board members, partner organizations, and funders
  • ‍Develop, maintain, and support a Board of Diretors;  seek and build board involvement
  • Ensure effective systems to track progress, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to stakeholders
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with regulations
  • ‍Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field
  • ‍See that the organization operates within budget guidelines
‍Fundraising & Communications
  • Build and grow revenue generating and fundraising activities to support operations and programming, with a focus on corporate, educational foundation, and government sources
  • ‍Deepen and refine all aspects of communications - from web presence to external relations - with the goal of creating a stronger brand
  • ‍Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities


Specific requirements include:

  • Nonprofit Management expertise
  • ‍Fundraising expertise with a history of securing gifts from corporate, foundation, and government sources
  • Grant seeking and grant writing experience
  • ‍Self-directed individual with ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial venture
  • ‍Ability to cultivate relationships and deepen engagement
  • ‍Existing fundraising network
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and communications experience
  • ‍Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ‍Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • ‍Experience in workforce development space, preferred
  • ‍Geographic location flexible
