The mission of The Trevor Project is to end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people. The organization works to fulfill this mission through four strategies:
1. Provide crisis counseling to LGBTQ young people thinking of suicide.
2. Offer resources, supportive counseling and a sense of community to LGBTQ young people to reduce the risk that they become suicidal.
3. Educate young people and adults who interact with young people on LGBTQ-competent suicide prevention, risk detection and response.
4. Advocate for laws and policies that will reduce suicide among LGBTQ young people.

The Trevor Project is the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. We also operate the world's largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. We've been saving lives every day for over 20 years.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Taking on this new position within The Trevor Project, the Expansion Strategy Lead will drive the planning process to explore Trevor's international and/or language expansion. This role will involve significant vision and strategic thinking as well as detailed planning, always in collaboration with key stakeholders to include the perspectives of LGBTQ youth, Trevor's volunteers and staff, the Board of Directors, and external partners. The Expansion Strategy Lead will drive forward key deliverables including detailed analysis, timelines, and presentations. Throughout, the Expansion Strategy Lead will be a champion for Trevor's mission to end LGBTQ youth suicide.
What you'll do:
Oversee planning and analysis for international and/or language expansion, including completing rigorous options analyses and risk mitigation
Build a detailed expansion timeline including key milestones, activities, interdependencies, and outcomes
Collaborate with colleagues across the The Trevor Project throughout the planning process to ensure key inputs, expertise, and perspectives are represented
Own behind-the-scenes preparation for all relevant Board and staff updates on international and/or language expansion planning
Identify and develop relationships with external stakeholders around the world who will be invaluable partners in Trevor's work
Ensure all departments within the organization are coordinated in pursuing the expansion planning, particularly around critical strategic initiatives that involve multiple departments
Serve as an in-house resource for departments across the organization regarding key questions around international and/or language expansion
Throughout, serve as a positive champion for Trevor's mission to end LGBTQ youth suicide
