The Adelson Educational Campus (AEC) in Las Vegas, Nevada is home to an independent, community Jewish day school that simultaneously operates an Early Childhood Education (Pre-School) Program, a Lower School (Grades K-5), a Middle School (Grades 6-8) and a college preparatory High School (Grades 9-12). Within the context of a campus atmosphere imbued with Jewish culture and a deep love for the State of Israel, AEC offers a quality academic program for Jewish students while also welcoming students from other faith communities and ethnic backgrounds. AEC’s mission is to instruct and inspire new generations of students who draw strength from the richness of western civilization as well as from Jewish ethical principles. At the heart of AEC’s approach is a focus on the whole child and an interdisciplinary curriculum through which students internalize values such as integrity, justice, tolerance, kindness, and community. Adelson campus students graduate as caring, perceptive, and engaged thinkers, well-prepared for the rigors of higher education and ready to take their places as the citizens and leaders of tomorrow.

AEC is situated on a state-of-the-art fourteen-acre campus with over 160,000 square feet of facilities. The campus is equipped with a 400-seat theater, seven science labs, a lower school organic garden and an instrumental music room. AEC also has a 5,000 square foot Startup Incubator in which students and teachers bring ideas to life. Startup Incubator facilities feature a Fab Lab, a Coding Lab, and a Digital Media Studio. In addition, the campus boasts extensive athletic facilities including a regulation size basketball court, an indoor competition size swimming pool, an indoor running track, a volleyball court, a soccer field, and three tennis courts.

Adelson is a central institution in Las Vegas’ extended Jewish community, serving approximately 480 students in the only Preschool-12th grade Jewish day school in the state of Nevada. The Adelson Educational Campus is seeking an innovative, dynamic, and compassionate educational leader for its Lower School division. The Lower School Principal is the instructional and inspirational leader of the Lower School (330 students from ECC-5th grade) and has primary responsibility for carrying out the School’s mission of providing a rigorous and comprehensive dual curriculum for its students in an environment that works to create a strong Jewish identity, foster a commitment to community for all of its stakeholders, and teach each student the importance of Jewish values. The Principal will lead an excellent faculty and have day-to-day responsibility for student life, maintaining and improving educational standards, professional development, and ensuring excellence in curriculum, teaching, and learning. The Principal will be expected to have a deep understanding of pedagogy on multiple levels, including curriculum development and implementation, as well as progressive educational movements and educational technology trends. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator with the ability to clearly articulate an academic vision with defined outcomes across all grade levels to various stakeholders including, students, faculty, and parents. In addition, the Principal will be able to effectively institute real and innovative modifications to the Lower School by providing training, leadership, motivation, and mentorship to faculty and administrators. 

The Lower School Principal is part of the school-wide leadership team and participates in strategic planning, policy setting, budgeting, and institutional advancement. Reporting to the Head of School, he/she will be a caring, skilled, and experienced educator, capable of leading a division and advancing the School’s commitment to providing a rigorous, inspiring, and supportive learning environment. This position will require someone who is a charismatic, compassionate, and relatable leader who will set and advance a success-oriented culture among all of the Lower School’s constituents.


  • Provide overall leadership and direction- both educational and operational- for the Lower School and its faculty and staff, in both general and Judaic studies.

  • Work collaboratively with the school-wide leadership team and the Upper School Principal to ensure a thoughtful and seamless K-12 curriculum with consistent expectations for academic achievement and social, emotional development.

  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, training, assignment, and supervision of faculty.

  • Foster an atmosphere of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Ensure up-to-date and recurring professional development and continuing education for Lower School faculty and staff.

  • Engage Lower School students with warmth and respect and display a genuine desire to connect with AEC parents and families.

  • Strive to offer the most pedagogically current and enriching educational experience to students and families.

  • Ensure the Lower School program meets the needs of a diverse array of learners.

  • Take an active role in the recruitment, admissions, and retention of students.

  • Be active in marketing the School and its programs to the wider community and in institutional advancement.
