POSITION OVERVIEW:
Talk Tech Association is seeking a Development Director who will oversee a growing development operation poised to double in growth over the next three years. The Development Director will be responsible for managing the organization’s annual giving program, corporate, foundations and institutional relationships, individual donor relations, media and communications, and events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising
- Plan and implement all fundraising activities to facilitate a $1.5M annual giving program, including donor research, outreach strategy and solicitation for corporate, individual, foundation, and public giving
- Develop sponsorship decks and proactively pitch to new and existing corporate partners
- Prepare and execute public and private grant applications, as well as manage timely and accurate reporting laid out in grant contracts
- Create and manage a yearly engagement plan for all giving levels, maintaining strong ongoing communications with top donors
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of fundraising and cultivation events at all levels, including event committees, invitations, RSVPs, donations, corporate sponsorships, vendors, day-of setup, check-in, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Create clear, specific, and measurable goals and programs, conducting evaluation and regular reporting to the TTA Co-Founders, Executive Director, Development Committee and the Board of Directors, and adjusting strategies when necessary
- Research, implement and manage a CRM/donor database system, maintaining donor information, accurate recordkeeping, and managing correspondence.
- Maintain donor mailing and email lists and manage mailings of annual report and other solicitations and publications
- Develop all fundraising collateral, as needed
- Other duties as required
Planning and Budgeting
- Create and execute short-term and long-term fundraising strategies that align with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives
- Oversee and manage the fundraising budget, monitoring progress and evaluating performance of all fundraising programs, ensuring there is a path for success to reach quarterly and yearly goals
- Help make sure that the organization’s philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization
Management
- Together with the Executive Director, map out a hiring plan for building a strong Development Department
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support qualified personnel, both paid and volunteer
- Oversee and manage the Development Committee and work with the Committee Chair to support the Board in fundraising
- Ensure effective management of all staff and volunteers
Qualifications:
Applicants should have the following skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree a plus
- 7-10 years’ experience managing fundraising activities for a non-profit organization
- Established relationships with foundations and institutional giving
- A track record of fundraising success in individual, corporate and institutional giving
- Excellence in organizational, managerial and communications skills
- Meticulous writing, editing and presentation skills
- Ability to wear different hats, thrive in a fast-paced environment and engage with a diversity of audiences
- Experience working with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe and Google Drive
- Commitment to the mission of the organization
