There are 2.2 million Americans who do not have running water or basic plumbing, while at least 44 million more do not have clean water that is safe to drink. Founded in 2012, DigDeep is a human rights non-profit organization working to ensure that every American has equitable access to clean, running water and sanitation forever. DigDeep seeks to close America's Water Gap in our lifetimes through a four-pronged Impact Model incorporating community-led solutions, innovative research, public engagement, and sector-building.
DigDeep is growing fast. The organization won the 2018 US Water Prize for its Navajo Water Project, which has brought clean, running water to hundreds of Native families across New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. Now we're expanding that work across the country. Our operating budget has more than doubled to north of $6M; we've built new relationships with major foundations, trade groups, and companies who are passionate about our work, and we have a grassroots donor base of more than 40,000 Americans behind us.
DigDeep is looking for a creative, collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented person to join our growing development team as the Individual Giving Manager (IGM). Reporting to the Chief Relationship Officer, the IGM is responsible for inspiring, broadening, and deepening the support of individual donors by developing and leveraging key fundraising strategies and activities. Managing a mix of mid-level and major donors, the IGM will focus on maximizing current relationships, identifying and cultivating new relationships, and provide exceptional communication and stewardship to increase the lifetime value of our donors.
The position requires nimble and strategic thinking, and the ability to flourish in a team setting while implementing team objectives independently, often under time pressure. The IGM will collaborate closely with other development team members, communications staff, contractors, and program team members to build and support a donor pipeline to meet all funding needs.
This is what you’ll do once you join the team.
- Maintain a portfolio of mid level and major donors ($1,000 - $10,000) and prospects by proactively creating and implementing strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors
- Work closely with CRO to build a mid level giving program that serves as a donor pipeline for major gifts
- Develop and implement a donor communications plan and ensure adequate reporting of communications data
- Perform prospect research on current and prospective donors
- Proactively reach out to qualify leads through cold calls and emails. Solicit individual prospective donors, when appropriate, and qualify major gift prospects to proactively cultivate for additional future gifts.
- Maintain timely and accurate records on individual donors and potential donors to support ongoing activity and future fundraising - including plans, tracking, and reporting
- Conduct regular and ongoing portfolio analysis, communicate outcomes and challenges, suggest portfolio adjustments as needed, and project results as needed for reports and planning
- Lead virtual/in-person small-group fundraisers and support other fundraising events
- Identify donor engagement opportunities and support major donor solicitation efforts of the CRO, CEO, and Board members
- Support other development functions of a fast-growing team as needs emerge

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

- You have skill and experience building and maintaining long-term relationships, including an aptitude for engaging and motivating donors and prospects, while achieving bottom-line results.
- You’re an enthusiastic and determined fundraiser with a proven ability to close five and six figure gifts.
- Your career shows you have strong problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.
- You’re a creative thinker with the ability to innovate and comfort in a rapidly evolving organization.

Skills and Competencies
We want to hear from you if you have:
- 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, which may include (but is not limited to) individual donor cultivation and solicitation, stewardship, events, communications, and/or membership/annual giving programs
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with and solid understanding of donor CRM systems
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
