Job Description:

The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. Research has shown that having supportive people in the lives of LGBTQ youth can significantly reduce their risk of suicide. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth, TrevorSpace, and run innovative research, education, and advocacy programs. We’ve been saving lives every day for over 20 years.

The General Manager, TrevorSpace will oversee the continued development and evolution of the world’s largest safe space community for LGBTQ youth. TrevorSpace, a peer-support community for LGBTQ youth around the globe, provides a safe and affirming space for young people to have discussions, express their identity, and make friends with others who may have similar lived experiences.

With over 200K users across over 100 countries, the General Manager will oversee the continued multinational expansion of the infrastructure of TrevorSpace, deliberately identifying which markets to begin targeted promotions and scaling the platform accordingly, with a focus on enhancing user experience for its members. Through doing this work, this platform has the potential to reach millions of LGBTQ youth globally. Responsible for building an initial team and partnering closely with the product, UX, engineering, and legal teams, the General Manager of TrevorSpace will play a crucial role in scaling and operationalizing a platform that will function as a safe space for LGBTQ youth across the world.

This is an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader with deep experience in the tech space to build a team and scale a platform that has the potential to deeply impact the lives of LGBTQ youth globally. The General Manager, TrevorSpace will report to the Chief Community Officer, hire and manage an initial team of four, and serve as a member of Trevor’s leadership as a Director within the organization’s structure.
