Above the Clouds brings joy and hope through the wonder of flight to children and teens who have a serious illness or disability, are underserved, or facing other serious adversity. ATC’s programs provide important relief for kids under tremendous stress and inspire disengaged youth to participate in making their dreams come true. The not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization accomplishes its mission through its four programs: Dream Flyers, Cadet Flyers, Discovery Flyers, and a Dream Flyover Program.

A squadron of volunteer pilots and dedicated volunteers make it all possible. Above the Clouds currently flies out of Norwood Memorial Airport in Norwood, Massachusetts and is looking to expand its chapters nationwide.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Board of Directors

The Executive Director is responsible for the full range of strategic and hands-on duties from board governance to fiscal management, operations and planning, leading and inspiring volunteers and staff to growing the organization and protecting ATC's mission. Critical priorities include:

·       Fundraising

·       Cultivating strategic partnerships and sponsorships

·       Recruiting, managing, and collaborating with volunteers and staff

·       Budgeting and resource allocation

·       Marketing and community outreach

·       Executing programs and events

.       Acquiring, retaining, and leadering of staff

Qualifications:

·       BA/BS degree with five or more years of not-for-profit or nonprofit senior leadership  experience

·       Demonstrated success for professional fundraising - ideally $250K+ annually

·       Previous experience on a board with ability to engage board members

·       Collaborative leadership style

·       Strong communication skills

·       Familiarity with aviation a plus
