Devin Murphy is a Manager in Bridgespan’s San Francisco Office. Since joining Bridgespan in 2008, Devin has worked with a wide range of clients in the areas of education and youth development.
Devin’s philanthropy advising engagements include program and organization-level strategy for the Foundation for the Carolinas, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Postsecondary Success team, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation Madison Initiative, William K. Kellogg Foundation Michigan Team, Omidyar Network, and United Nations Foundation.
Devin’s consulting projects have included strategic planning for the national office of Communities In Schools, growth strategy for Reading Partners, financial sustainability forecasting for the Harlem Children’s Zone, funding model and revenue strategy development for the SEED Foundation, and teacher professional development strategies for multiple school districts and service providers.
Devin has always been interested in the connections across Bridgespan’s practice areas and has led the development of internal working groups focused on approaches to breaking cycles of intergenerational poverty and supporting greater racial equity.
Prior to joining Bridgespan, Devin completed coursework and qualifying exams with distinction in the American Studies doctoral program at New York University. Devin’s field concentrations are in 20th century social movements and political theory. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate, Devin earned a BA with highest honors in Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture from Emory University.
