The ability to work effectively with your grantees is the fundamental operating requirement in the journey from aspirations to real impact. Let’s face it: There is an enormous power imbalance between donors (who have money) and nonprofits (who seek it). Donors may often talk about “partnering” with grantees, but “partnership” isn’t usually the first word that comes to a nonprofit leader’s mind.
