Defining risk in philanthropy: Steve McCormick believes foundations’ financial security unleashes them

Risk-taking in philanthropy is “quite attractive,” says Steve McCormick, because even if investments fail, “we’ll still have funding. So, we can test out hypotheses that may have a 25% chance of working. If they do, they’re game changers.”
