Angela Maldonado

Angela Maldonado is a partner in Bridgespan’s New York office. In her work, Angela advises funders and nonprofits on strategy across many domains — particularly education, workforce development, and financial inclusion. Her work with nonprofits has focused on strategic clarity, growth planning, impact at scale, and translating strategy to organizational design. Her work with philanthropies and funder collaboratives has included impact strategy development, sourcing and diligence, and identifying high-impact grantmaking approaches.

Angela brings a depth of expertise in public K-12 education previously serving as a teacher, teacher coach, district project manager, and education consultant. Prior to joining Bridgespan, Angela was a Partner at TNTP, a national education consulting nonprofit firm, where she advised senior-level executives at state education agencies, philanthropic organizations, and districts on a range of topics including strategy, leadership development, human capital systems and strategies, change management, and racial equity. She also oversaw the organization’s leadership development programs and practices team, leading the creation of the organization’s first equity-centered leadership development framework. In 2015, Angela gained national recognition for her work as a Forbes award winner as one of the most influential leaders in education.

Angela graduated with distinction from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. She also holds a Master of Education from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.
