Anuja Kadam

Manager, Mumbai

Anuja Kadam is a manager in Bridgespan’s India office. Through her work, she hopes to help build a vibrant civil society reinforced by dynamic leaders, community-led nonprofits, and equity-oriented philanthropists.

Over the last 6+ years at Bridgespan, Anuja has served as an advisor and coach to a range of nonprofits and funders across India and Southeast Asia. Her work spans multiple sectors, including health, education, livelihoods, climate mitigation and resilience, gender equity, women’s economic empowerment, agriculture, and water and sanitation. She brings particular experience in designing market-based solutions across the value chain and exploring social change through a deep equity lens. She was also a coach for Bridgespan’s Nonprofit Development Program (BNDP), where she supported over 40 diverse nonprofits in developing their 3–5-year strategies (theory of change) and second-line leadership capabilities.

Anuja brings strong expertise in strategy development, sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management, monitoring, evaluation and learning, stakeholder management, operating model design, team leadership, and communication.

She was part of the team that authored the Bridgespan report, Giving Credit Where Due: A Case for Debt Financing in Indian Impact Enterprises (Bridgespan.org, 2020), and has co-authored articles on social enterprises- "India’s Impact Enterprises Need More Debt Financing to Grow" (Nextbillion.net, 2020) and community-driven change - "What Social Change Looks Like When Communities Decide for Themselves" (Avpn.asia, 2022).

Prior to Bridgespan, Anuja worked in corporate strategy consulting and risk advisory for private sector clients. She was also part of the team that orchestrated the systemic transformation of government schools in Jharkhand, India as part of an education reform initiative with the state government.

Anuja holds a B.A. in Economics from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai and is an Urban Fellow from the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) in Bengaluru.
