Dorothy Jones

Dorothy Jones is a principal in Bridgespan’s Boston office and DC hub. She joined the firm with 15 years of experience as a strategic advisor, organizational capacity builder and leadership coach. She is an expert collaborator, relationship-manager and senior intrapreneur with a track record of engaging cross-sector stakeholders to cultivate results-driven, thriving programs and organizations. Dorothy has co-authored the recent publications, "Nonprofit Leadership Transitions: Four Ways Funders can Support Leaders of Color" and  "How to Support New Leaders of Color: A Transition Timetable" (Bridgespan.org, 2024).

Prior to Bridgespan, Dorothy worked at Deloitte in their public sector strategy practice. There, she supported nonprofit and government leaders to design, launch, assess and rebuild business strategy, programs and partnerships to strengthen organizational sustainability and deepen mission-strategy alignment. Before her consulting career, Dorothy worked for ten years in the nonprofit sector focusing on youth and family well-being in various roles as an organizational capacity builder, senior program manager and policy advocate.

Dorothy received her JD from the New York University School of Law, and her BA in Sociology at Harvard University. Dorothy is also a certified leadership coach through New Ventures West. She resides in Washington, DC with her family.
