Julia Standish-White

Julia Standish-White is a manager in The Bridgespan Group’s Johannesburg office. Since joining Bridgespan in 2021, she has advised NGO clients working in various fields and areas of expertise including education, technology for social good, and social behaviour change. She has also supported philanthropists to develop their African investment strategies and portfolios. Example clients include Girl Effect, TaRL Africa, Ushahidi, and a global funding collaborative. Julia also recently completed a research piece that explored the funding models of over 30 African NGOs that have scaled their funding.

Prior to Bridgespan, Julia worked at Africa’s largest economics-based consultancy, Genesis Analytics. During her time there, she was a project manager on a 17-country research study for the International Planned Parenthood Federation, conducting client exit interviews for FCDO’s flagship family planning programme. She also worked on projects relating to health, e-commerce, financial services, and South Africa’s response to COVID-19. Julia holds a Master of Science in evidence-based social intervention and policy evaluation from the University of Oxford and a psychology honours degree from the University of Cape Town. She presented the findings of her master’s dissertation at the SAAIDS Conference in 2019. Julia is also an Oxford Weidenfeld Hoffman and Mandela Rhodes Scholar.
