Maya Simpson
Principal, San FranciscoMaya Simpson is a principal in Bridgespan’s San Francisco office. Since joining Bridgespan in 2019, she has advised nonprofits and philanthropies on strategy, field building, and organizational effectiveness, with particular depth in education and youth-serving organizations. Her current work focuses on helping nonprofits define and strengthen their roles in field building and systems change across a range of issue areas, while also supporting funders on strategy and portfolio design.
Maya also brings experience in operating models and talent strategy, helping organizations consider and implement the organizational implications of their strategies. She has supported nonprofit leadership teams through Bridgespan’s Leading for Impact® capacity-building program.
Before Bridgespan, Maya spent more than nine years working with K–12 education nonprofits and schools across direct program delivery, program management, operations, and curriculum development. Most recently, she led talent development for College Track, a national education nonprofit, where her work included performance management; organization design and career pathways; employee experience and organizational culture; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and training and development.
Maya holds a BA in history from Pomona College and an MA in sociology and education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
