Peter Birke

Peter Birke is a senior manager in Bridgespan's San Francisco office. Since joining Bridgespan, he has worked with both philanthropic and nonprofit organizations across a range of issue areas, including place-based change and economic mobility, helping them develop effective strategies and operating models.

Peter has a particular interest in and commitment to supporting Tribal sovereignty and has contributed to Bridgespan's work with Native-serving and Native-led organizations. He coauthored, "The Impact and Opportunity of Investing in Native Communities" (Bridgespan.org, 2025), a report published in partnership with Native Americans in Philanthropy.

Prior to joining Bridgespan, Peter worked in both the social sector and local government, focusing on economic and community development. Peter has an AB in economics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MPA from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.
