Madhuri Mukherjee
PartnerMadhuri Mukherjee is a partner in Bridgespan’s Africa office, based in Nairobi, serving philanthropy, and non-profit sectors alongside impact investing clients. She has over a decade of experience working with private funders, investors, and social enterprises across thematic areas. Key areas include financial inclusion, agriculture and food security, renewable energy, public health, SME development, and women’s economic empowerment and gender equity.
Earlier in her career, Madhuri worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse. She then transitioned to the social impact sector, motivated by a commitment to address systemic challenges and channel capital toward inclusive development. Prior to working at Bridgespan, Madhuri was an Associate Partner at Dalberg Advisors, where she led high-profile strategy and research engagements across Africa and Asia. In this role, she helped a wide range of clients, from global development banks and foundations, to private investors and NGOs, design solutions in inclusive finance, agriculture and food security, and climate-resilient livelihoods. Her work was deeply grounded in gender-transformative approaches, ensuring that programs recognized and closed gender gaps in power and opportunity, while delivering sustainable economic outcomes. As a Gender Equity specialist at Dahlberg, she supported clients and internal teams in understanding and navigating gender and power dynamics to implement gender transformative solutions. She also coauthored the report, "COVID-19 and Women-Led MSMEs in sub-Saharan Africa", focused on COVID-19’s differentiated impact on women owned and led entrepreneurs on the continent as an example of her work.
Madhuri holds a BA in Economics from the University of Delhi, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, and a Master’s in International Business from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She is also a member and investor with the Nairobi Angel Investors Network (NaiBAN).
